Cinemania’s Julio Neri launches extreme sports channel online

Julio Neri, president of Cinemania Network, is launching a new online channel dedicated to extreme sports named MC Extreme TV.“The business model is similar to that of Cinemania, which is advertising-based. We hope to reach the same amount of traffic of Cinemania, which currently has over 1.5 million of movies viewed every month,” said Neri.The content comes primarily from the French company Ananda, from which Neri acquired a large package of extreme sports videos. At Natpe 2014, Neri also met with a supplier of English-language content.“We have enough content to keep the channel going for at least two years,” he said.Neri also plans to launch other channels devoted to jazz and cooking.
